Activity and Social Events
There is an ongoing program of activities designed to meet the interset and physical, mental, and psychosocial well being of each resident. Residents voluntarily participate in the many activities in the facility.
Various religious denominations hold services at different times each month. Bible study is conducted on a regular basis as well.
Music therapy, social events, games and community integration are incorporated to reduce or alleviate depression and isolation.
Residents take great pleasure in outings in the community such as The Rose Garden, Limo Rides, and trips to the Boardwalk while reminiscing on the things and events that had taken place years ago around Shreveport-Bossier.
Resident council meetings are held monthly. These meetings give the residents the opportunity to voice their concerns, suggestions, and make recommendations to improve the quality of care and receive feedback.
Transportation
Spring Lake has its own handicapped accessible van which is available to transport residents to and from medical appointments and dialysis.
Upon availability, Spring Lake transportation is able to pickup new residents from the hospital however hospital social workers/case managers shall contact the Social Service Director or Admission Director for needed arrangements.
Admissions
It is Spring Lake's goal to ensure that your loved one has a smooth transition from home or hospital to our facility.
Each family meets with Admissions Director who shall complete the admission process, determine financial aid eligibility, orient the resident and family to the facility, and provide tours of the facility.
The Admissions Director shall also market the facility with community based organizations, assist in the pre-screening process of admission candidates, assist the charges nurses with floor supervision, assist the resident and family in locating lost items, and review/update restraint protocol.
